Your subconscious mind takes decisions sometimes we are not intended to take. Here is why that happens and how you can harness it’s power
It’s not you, your SUB-CONSCIOUS mind.
Whether you decide to put a nuclear bomb to blast a hurricane or execute your uncle to yawn during an official meeting, you are not making the decisions. Your subconscious mind makes those decisions, and you just act upon it.
Your subconscious mind is conditioned through years of experience, since your birth, on this planet. Your religious, cultural, social beliefs together condition your mind. Not to mention the political environment you live in.
Here is how to correct what is not correct in our way of thinking. But before that, we need to understand the four factors that govern our decisions.
Why do you decide?
Have you ever wondered what will happen to your savings or investments during an economic downturn? You want to secure your future, aren’t you?
Haven’t you seek the guidance of a friend or a professional, since you are confused and can’t make the decision alone?
Do you participate in training programs, read books, or meditate so that you could enrich your wisdom? I’m sure you do, that’s why you read this blog
The evolution theory says, “the strongest will survive.” Wouldn’t you agree that the power matters for survival as a species on this planet?
Security, guidance, wisdom, and power are the sources of our decision-making process. Countries are investing in their defense (security) and education (guidance) so that their people rise with wisdom, and that eventually makes the nation more powerful. Wouldn’t you agree? This is true both at a community level and at an individual level.
Now, we’re ready to understand our decision-making process. We are gonna connect these sources to the values in our subconscious mind.
The Decision-Making Process
Your subconscious mind evaluates different things at different levels. Yes, you are right. It’s because of the conditioning effect we discussed earlier. All your decisions are assessed against these values in your mind, and across the four sources. Therefore it’s essential to understand what is at the center of your subconscious mind. What is the ultimate of your values?
Here are a few examples. See which one you fit in. In the next article, we’ll be discussing why it’s important NOT to be in one of these!
If you assume others will understand that your economic demands come first, then you may be a money-centered person.
If you think what my friends would think, before making any significant decisions, you may be a friend centered person.
